Easy Homemade Spaghetti & Tomato Sauce

This easy homemade spaghetti and tomato sauce can be made using your favorite jarred sauce! Add some extra veggies and parmesan and basil for a great finish.

Equipment

  • Large Pot

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 lb pasta
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil to garnish
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain, rinse, and set pasta aside in another bowl.
  • In the same pot, add the olive oil and saute the garlic and onions for 5 to 6 minutes. Add in the tomato sauce, and simmer for 20 minutes until the onions are cooked through.
  • Add the pasta back into the pot with the tomato sauce, and toss well to combine. Stir in fresh basil and parmesan cheese. Serve hot.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

Notes

Note: use your favorite brand of tomato sauce – any kind will do!
